South African Graphic Art and its Techniques - F.L. Alexander

South African Graphic Art and its Techniques by F L Alexander is not a history of the graphic arts in South Africa because the nineteenth century artists at the Cape left no mark on those of the twentieth century. These later artists are only successors in time, but not their followers. South African Graphic Art and its Techniques, therefore, does not pretend to be such a history. Rather, F.L. Alexander seeks to explain various techniques used in graphic art and to illustrate these profusely by South African works. Reproductions of more than 200 graphic works appear in this book which was completed and edited by Roman Waher.
